Does GifMaker have an API?
Current API Status
At this time, GifMaker does not offer a public API. Our tools are designed for direct browser use and are not currently available as a programmatic service.
Why We Do Not Have an API
There are several reasons why we focus on the browser-based experience:
- Local Processing: Our core technology processes GIFs directly in the browser, eliminating server-side processing needs
- Simplicity: We want to keep GIF creation simple and accessible to everyone, not just developers
- Resource Efficiency: Server-side GIF processing is resource-intensive; browser processing is more scalable

Self-Hosting
GifMaker is designed to run entirely in the browser. While we do not support self-hosting of our exact service, the underlying technologies (WebAssembly, browser-based processing) are available for developers to explore.
